More Betrayal

Published on 9 March 2025 at 14:38

I could write a new story of betrayal, espionage and failure just about every day.  The US is in a cold war with China and is on the verge of a hot war with them at any time.  China has been working day and night to subvert the US in every way possible.  In eras gone by, espionage and subversion were usually constrained to military targets, but China is attacking in every facet of your life, so much so, that you probably wouldn't believe it.  This latest example is military-related, but you and I are in the databases in China and if you're unimaginative, you'll say so what?  They can't do anything to me.  Hmmm, don't be stupid.

Last week, the FBI arrested two current members of our military and one retired member for stealing our military secrets and passing it on to China, for money.  This is the kind of betrayal that I rage against.  If found guilty, they should be lined up against a wall and executed.  I'd be for a public execution, by the way.  Jian Zhao and Li Tian, who both were active duty Army soldiers out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Ruoyu Duan, a former soldier, were arrested after an investigation by the FBI.  The above picture is one of the active duty soldiers caught on camera taking photos of top secret information.  The FBI also obtained 20 stolen disc drives and a stolen encrypted computer from the suspects, with proof of payment from Chinese operatives for manuals and information on military hardware, including the HIMARS system, and military planning and capabilities.  This betrayal had been going on for three years and the FBI and Army are still trying ascertain what secrets were divulged.  Infiltration of our military is as dangerous as it gets.

“The defendants arrested today are accused of betraying our country, actively working to weaken America’s defense capabilities and empowering our adversaries in China,” said Attorney General Pamela J. Bondi. “They will face swift, severe, and comprehensive justice.”

There hasn't been any real information release yet on the traitors, but we will all be curious if they were immigrants or just citizens with sympathies toward China.  Recent reports have said that both China and Russia have been contacting federal employees who have been fired by the Trump Administration, trying to gain assets.  Americans seem quite susceptible to this kind of thing, which angers me greatly.  I'd love to find out this was a counter-espionage incident, but it isn't.   We have several examples of congressman sleeping with Chinese spies, see Eric Swalwell.  Canada has had their fair share as well.  Read this list on Wikipedia of the cases we know about of spying for China and then let the anger swell.

In November, German authorities arrested a US citizen who worked for the US Armed Forces in Germany, was arrested for trying to sell sensitive military secrets to Chinese intelligence agents.

In 2023, two US Navy sailors were arrested for selling naval secrets to Chinese intelligence.  According to an ABC News story, Jinchao "Patrick" Wei, a 22-year-old petty officer 2nd class, was arrested Wednesday and charged with espionage -- more specifically, conspiracy to and committing the communication of defense information to aid a foreign government.

Petty Officer Wenheng Zhao, of Monterey Park, California, was also arrested Wednesday, by FBI and NCIS agents, and is charged with conspiracy and receipt of a bribe by a public official, officials said, according to Zhao's indictment.  Zhao, 26, worked at the Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme and had an active U.S. security clearance who had access to classified information, officials said.

It never seems to end and it won't end until we get real serious about the threat.  Most, 95%, of the list from Wikipedia and two of these three examples are people with Chinese names.  Many had immigrated recently.  Why do we allow any Chinese into this country?  As I've reported in other stories, only Chinese allowed by the CCP to travel aboard are coming here and they are all, civilian or otherwise, required to aid Chinese Intelligence in spying.  We know this, so why allow any of them here?  What do think the Chinese do to their citizens accused of spying?  Yeah, they kill them or in the off-chance they want to turn them into double agents, they let them live for a while.  We have no people in China anymore after a brutal hack that exposed our sources.  They were all killed.   With the threat of sure death, spying in China is near zero.  We ought to learn the lesson.  There will be more to come on this issue.  I am truly distraught as things are spiraling down.

PS  Just after posting this story yet another one flowed in telling us of a State Department official arrested for passing defense secrets on to the Chinese.  Courtesy of Reuters,

Michael Charles Schena, 42, was charged with conspiring to gather and transmit U.S. national defense information to people not authorized to receive it.

Schena, who has worked at State Department headquarters in Washington, held a top secret security clearance and had access to information up to the secret level, the Justice Department said in a statement.

It was found he received funds in Chinese Yuan for the theft.  Last meal, cigarette, gun fire.
